Stakeholder UID filing deadlines & Automatic PSC UID filing
FILING DEADLINES (or WINDOWS)
I can see UID filing deadlines for officers/ LLP members/ PSCs in Kudocs. Where do these dates come from?
The source for these deadlines/ windows are s.790LN (3) Companies Act 2006 and Regulation 5 of The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (Commencement No. 6 and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2025.
Director and LLP filing deadlines are set by Kudocs by reference to the confirmation statement due date. See here and here for more information.
In practical terms, Companies House provides the filing windows and deadlines for PSCs via their API. You can also see filing windows and deadlines on the relevant pages of the Companies House public register. e.g.

See here for more information about how these are meant to work.
The window and deadline dates in Kudocs match Companies House’s own data provided through their API and what is showing on the public register. They should also match the guidance (and the legislation (see above). However, we are at the mercy of what data is sent to us by Companies House. It may not be perfect/correct!
In some cases, we are noticing that the PSC window/deadline dates set by Companies House do not match what the legislation says they should be. E.g. a PSC who is also a director of the same company is being treated as if they are only a PSC, so the PSC filing deadline is showing by reference to their birth month, rather than the confirmation statement date. This is, we think, contrary to Regulation 5 of The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (Commencement No. 6 and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2025. We are working with Companies House to resolve this. In the meantime, if you do spot this issue please get in touch!
In this example, where there are 2 individuals who are both PSCs and directors, the data we are getting from CH as the filing window dates for the PSC is by reference to birth month (e.g. January), whereas it should be, like the director deadline, by reference to the confirmation statement date (03/04/2026):

Why are the filing windows and deadlines in Companies House and Kudocs different to what I was expecting based on the regulations? We are noticing that the PSC window/deadline dates set by Companies House do not match what the legislation says they should be. We are seeking urgent clarification from Companies House about this (as of 18/11/2025). See the answer above for more information.
Why does someone who is a director and PSC have 2 different filing deadlines? This is due to how the UID filing deadlines work. An individual who is both a director and a PSC must file their UID twice – once for each role. However, the timings for each filing are different.
Directors (and LLP members) must file by reference to an entity’s first confirmation statement date after the 18 November 2025. PSCs, however, must file by reference to either their birth month or the entity’s confirmation statement date in place as at 18 November – depending on their role. See here for more information.
I have filed the confirmation statement, so why is Kudocs still showing a PSC filing deadline? This is because where the PSC is also a director or LLP member of that entity, the PSC must file their UID within a 14-day window running from the day after the confirmation statement date until the filing deadline for that confirmation statement. This is a window, not a deadline i.e. the UID cannot be filed before or after the window dates.
This 14-day window for PSCs who are also directors or LLP members of the same entity will be set and locked by Companies House on 18 November 2025 itself. That means that if, as at 18 November 2025, a company has a confirmation statement due to be filed by 20 June 2026, any ‘PSC Director’ must file their UID for their PSC role between 7th – 20th June 2026. This window is set and locked even if the company files its confirmation statement early – the PSC still cannot file their UID until their ‘original’ window opens.
I see “Data missing” in the UID filing table in Kudocs. What is this and why? As of 18 November 2025, we are still seeing how and what information Companies House provides around UID filing dates. We are expecting to be able to access UID filing dates for all active PSCs – however, this does not seem to be possible in all cases. We are still working to see how it can be improved at our end, but some reasons include:
- The PSC no longer being active in the Companies House register – i.e. a PSC termination has been filed at Companies House, but the relevant PSC record has not been updated in Kudocs. This means that you need to check and update the entity’s PSC records in Kudocs to ensure the Kudocs data matches Companies House. Once this has been done, we can then pull the correct data from Companies House and the UID filing table will be updated accordingly.
- We are unable to get any data from Companies House. We are not sure why this is, but can investigate on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for more information.
How can I generate a report of all entities in my portfolio with stakeholders that need UIDs and their filing deadlines. You can do this via the “Stakeholders (All Roles) (UID) Report, that is available in the portfolio reports section” https://www.kudocs.co.uk/faqs/portfolio-reports/ . In addition, Kudocs emails portfolio admins every Monday morning with a report on all the entities that have stakeholders with UID filings due in the next 3 weeks, and flagging which stakeholders are still missing their UIDs.
AUTOMATIC PSC FILING
What is automatic PSC filing? We appreciate that understanding and managing the filing of all PSC UIDs in the correct filing windows can be very complex. You may also find it hard to manage these if, for example, you or your colleagues are away on leave. To help our customers, Kudocs has built a new feature that will file the PSC UID for you – automatically – at the right time!
This is for PSCs only (whether they are also directors/ LLP members or not). It will not affect the UID filing requirements for directors and LLP members – that is still done via the confirmation statement filing process, which is not automatic – you need to prepare, review and submit a confirmation statement in the usual way.
How does automatic PSC filing work? Kudocs will file the PSC UID automatically for you if all of the following conditions are met:
- you have enabled automatic PSC filing (see below);
- the filing window for that PSC is open;
- the PSC’s UID is stored in Kudocs;
- the PSC is active in Kudocs; and
- Kudocs cannot detect that the PSC UID has already been filed (for example, if this was done directly with Companies House, or manually using Kudocs before the automatic PSC filing process started).
If all of the above requirements are met, then Kudocs will file the UID for you at Companies House. For peace of mind, Kudocs will also create an activity timeline entry and process record for you in the entity’s record, so that you can track that filings have been successfully completed. This saves you tracking each PSC and submitting manual filings every time a filing window opens.
If one (or more) of the above requirements are missing at the start of the filing window, but are provided during the open period, then Kudocs will still file the UID for you. For example, if you only receive a PSC’s UID on day 10 of their filing window and add it to Kudocs on that day, Kudocs will then automatically file the UID for you either on the same day or the following day (i.e. day 11).
How do I enable automatic PSC filings for my entity? This is very easy! Just open the UID filing panel near the top of the entity dashboard, and click on {Edit} at the bottom of the box next door to “Automatic PSC UID filing”. You can then toggle this feature on and off. Any changes you make will be recorded in the activity timeline for that entity.

How do I enable automatic PSC filings for all entities in my Portfolio? This is also very easy. A Portfolio Admin can just go to Portfolio Settings > Edit portfolio and scroll down to “Automatic PSC UID filing”. You can then toggle this feature on and off for all entities in your portfolio. Any changes you make will be recorded in the portfolio activity timeline. Please note that:
- Changing the setting at the portfolio level will update all entities. If you want certain entities to opt out of this, you will need to adjust their individual settings as shown above.
- Any new entities added to the portfolio – or incorporated via Kudocs as part of the portfolio – will inherit the portfolio’s automatic PSC filing settings.
