This policy applies to users/ visitors to the Kudocs website (www.kudocs.co.uk – the Site) and any users of the services offered on the Site.

 

1. DEFINITIONS
A cookie is a small file that is downloaded on to your computer or smartphone or similar devices (Device) when you visit a website. It allows a website to recognise your Device and store information about you, like your preferences or past actions.

2. HOW WE USE COOKIES

    1. We place cookies onto your Device to give you and anyone visiting our Site the best possible experience.
    2. We use cookies to enable our Site’s features and functionality and to keep your data safe.
    3. We use cookies to identify your Device, secure your access to our Site, and to know if someone attempts to access your account from a different device.

3. WHEN & WHERE WE PLACE COOKIES
Anytime you visit our Site you may receive cookies from us. In particular, we use the following:

      1. Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our Site. They include, for example, cookies that enable and support our security features.
      2. Analytical/performance/research cookies. They allow us to analyse the number of visitors and how visitors move around our Site when they are using it. This helps us to improve our Service and the way our Site works (for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily).
      3. Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you visit our Site. This enables us to personalise our content for you, and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
      4. Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our Site, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our Site and Service more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.
      5. Chat Support Tool cookies. We use the Intercom chat tool (the Chat Support Tool) to enable visitors and users to ask questions and receive support. The Chat Support Tool is provided by Intercom, Inc. and sets the cookies and browser storage items listed below automatically when you visit a page on which it is active.  These cookies are set and served by Intercom, Inc. They are used solely to operate the Chat Support Tool and are not used for advertising or tracking across other websites. 4. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

We use cookies set by third-party service providers to support the operation of certain features on our Site and within the Service. These include:

  1. Intercom, Inc. – sets cookies as part of the Chat Support Tool. See clause 3.5 for details of the specific cookies, their purpose and duration.
  2. Google Analytics – sets cookies to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our Site. See clause 3.2.

Please note that the names of cookies, pixels and other technologies may change over time. We will update this policy when material changes occur. You can also contact us at info@kudocs.co.uk for details of any third-party cookies currently in use.

5. CONTROLLING COOKIES

    1. You should be able to control cookies through the setting preferences of your web browser (most browsers provide online help pages relating to cookie management). You should be allowed to refuse the setting of all or some cookies.  If you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of our Site.
    2. If you use our Site without changing your browser settings, we will assume that you are happy to receive all cookies available on our Site.

6. EXPIRATION
The lifespan of cookies varies depending on their purpose.  Kudocs’s own cookies expire in accordance with their specific purpose (typically within a session or up to six months, except for strictly necessary cookies which may persist longer).  Third-party cookies, including those set by Intercom as part of the Chat Support Tool, have their own expiry periods as set by the relevant third party. The Intercom cookies listed in clause 3.5 have expiry periods ranging from one week to nine months (or are persistent in the case of browser local storage). You can view and manage cookies stored on your device at any time through your browser settings (see clause 5).
