Add members to Limited by Guarantee company (LBG)

When I add an existing LBG to Kudocs, there are no members showing, why?  When you add an existing company to Kudocs, we use the current data from Companies House as the starting point.  Companies House provides a lot of current and historic information to make this process quick and easy.  However, Companies House does not provide any details of LBG members, because this is not data that they store.  Not to worry, you can add this information during onboarding or later – once you have created the account in Kudocs.

Can I add existing members to an LBG in Kudocs?  Yes.  Because Companies House does not provide any details of LBG members (because this is not data that they store), you will need to add details of LBG members to the LBG account in Kudocs.  This is quick and easy to do:  Actions > View All actions > Add member(s).

Can I add existing members in bulk to Kudocs – via an upload etc? Yes.  As well as adding members one by one, you can also add via a bulk import.  Just follow the instructions above for adding members, and then select “Bulk import”.  Use this process to add members in bulk via a spreadsheet import. We will provide the template for you to download, insert data and then upload into Kudocs.  You can use this to add details such as name, address, guarantee and voting details and if there are any joint members.

Can I appoint new members to an LBG in Kudocs?  Yes.  If an LBG appoints new members (which is different to adding details of existing members – see above), the LBG needs to update it’s registers to reflect this.  This can be done easily using Kudocs: Actions > View All actions > Appoint member(s).

Can I have joint members of an LBG?

Yes, you can.  See the information above about how to add or appoint members and then you can add details of the joint members at the same time, or by editing the stakeholder details.  See here for more information.
