Companies House update (filing issues 10-16 June 2026) – updated 19 June 2026
19 June 2026 update:
CH has been processing filings since 17 June, and they are working through the backlog. They have been prioritising same day filings, but have also been working on other filings (working in date order from the start of the backlog). We have seen lots of filings go through, but there is still a backlog. CH says the hope to clear these all by the start of next week (they will be working over the weekend).
For information on how to track filing statuses for portfolio customers, please see here.
You can assume that, unless you receive a notification from Kudocs that the filing has been rejected, the filing will be processed by CH, but this will just take time. Thank you for your patience.
We have just received this update from CH:
“Companies House filing services update – Friday 19 June
We wanted to provide an update on the following areas:
Same day filings
We’re pleased to confirm that we are now able to process same day transactions as normal.
Processing of filings
- XML – 91,000 transactions still to be processed.
- WebFiling – 56,000 transactions still to be processed.
These numbers are limited to account filings and confirmation statements. All other transactions are now being accepted as normal. These transactions are taking longer for us to process as the numbers include duplicate submissions that need to be manually handled to ensure a single update is added to the register.
Thank you again for your engagement, patience and support. “
16 June 2026 – 1330:
Companies House (“CH”) has now resolved the issues they have been having over the past few days and their systems are getting back to normal. Please see below for an update on this and how it affects Kudocs and our customers.
What happened
Since late on Wednesday 10 June CH started having issues with receiving and processing all filings submitted electronically (via systems like Kudocs and via web filing). From 9.55pm on Friday 12 June CH stopped accepting any filings due to the issues they were facing. As of 1pm on 16 June, their systems now appear to be back up and running.
The issue was caused by some system changes at CH. It was not a cyber attack and did not affect how Kudocs operates, other than that we were not able to submit filings correctly and we could not pull data from CH (e.g. to onboard a company or check names for incorporation).
What has been fixed
CH systems are now back online. This means that:
- Kudocs can now pull data from CH (i.e. you can now onboard companies and draft incorporations correctly).
- All filings are now being received by CH correctly.
- From tomorrow (17 June) CH will start processing the backlog of filings (that has built up since 10 June).
What do our customers need to do?
Nothing! Carry on using Kudocs as normal.
Kudocs will handle the resubmission of any stuck or failed filings that have occurred in the past few days. Please do not re-run any processes in Kudocs that might trigger a duplicate filing.
CH will not start processing the filings until 17 June and they have a significant backlog to work through. Therefore, filing statuses will take a while to update. CH will be working in date and priority order, and hope to clear the backlog by ~21 June. CH says:
“We will be processing time-critical filings as a priority.
It may take several days to process some filings. After filings are processed, they’ll either be accepted and visible on the public register, or they’ll be rejected for correction…
If you missed your filing deadline because of our service closures between Friday 12 June and Tuesday 16 June, or your filing was delayed and then rejected, you do not need to contact us. File as soon as possible, and keep a record of the date and time you tried to access the service while it was closed.”
We understand this to mean that same day filings from last week will take priority over same day filings submitted from now on.
You can continue to track your filings using Kudocs in the usual way, but please be aware that it may take time for them to be processed by Companies House.
If there are any issues with filings, Kudocs will contact you.
For more information please see the information on the Companies House website, or contact Kudocs.
